This notice describes how Virtual Drive Management LLC (“Virtual Drive,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Virtual Drive mobile application. It supplements our general website privacy policy.
Information the app handles
- Account and identity information: the username or email you enter to sign in; the account, role, organization, and linked-student identifiers returned by our learning platform; and the authentication information needed to keep your session secure.
- Learning and certificate information: enrolled courses; lesson and topic availability; course, video, and interactive-activity progress; quiz and practice-test activity; grades; course-attempt history; and certificate availability maintained by WordPress, LearnDash, and Virtual Drive’s education systems.
- Appointment and feedback information: the ZIP or service-area criteria, dates, times, and service type used to find instruction options; appointment requests; completed-session star ratings; and optional written reviews. Featured affiliate schools are contact-only listings and do not receive a student record through the Virtual Drive marketplace.
- Driving-instruction information: instruction dates and times, total and nighttime minutes, activity type, parent or instructor attestations, optional notes, correction reasons, and the related student, program, appointment, and course-attempt identifiers.
- School and role-onboarding information: school legal and public names, website, TDLR school license number, authorized-representative name, title, email, and phone; school address and county; role preferences and acknowledgements; school attestations; and onboarding or review status.
- Device and security information: device platform, an app-generated install identifier, app version, and short-lived authentication and launch tokens used to protect access.
- On-device information: protected authentication tokens, video resume positions, onboarding status, and Class C practice-test continuity information stored using the device’s protected storage.
The app does not continuously track your location and does not request access to your device’s location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or media library. A ZIP code, school address, or service area that you enter is information you choose to submit; it is not read from device location services.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate users; provide authorized courses, videos, progress, grades, certificates, family views, and driver-training records; find and request eligible instruction; process session feedback; support school and role onboarding; protect the service; comply with education and recordkeeping requirements; troubleshoot problems; and respond to support requests.
Payments, advertising, and tracking
The mobile app does not create accounts, complete enrollment or payment, accept payments, offer in-app purchases, or direct users to an outside purchase flow. Existing accounts are created outside the app through website enrollment or may be assigned by an authorized school or organization. The app does not include third-party advertising or behavioral advertising, and Virtual Drive does not use mobile-app information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
When information is shared
We disclose information to service providers that host the website and learning platform or deliver protected streaming video, only as needed to provide those services. A directly scheduled Virtual Drive instructor may receive the limited student and appointment information needed to provide the assigned session. A featured affiliate school receives no student record through the Virtual Drive marketplace; choosing its contact link takes you to that school’s own destination, where its privacy practices apply. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, Virtual Drive, or the service.
Storage and retention
Authentication tokens and app-managed continuity values are stored using the device’s protected storage. Logging out removes the app’s local authentication session. Choosing Account Deletion in the app signs out the current user and clears the app’s protected local login, device, practice-session, and course-resume information before opening the server-account request process. Removing the app also clears app-managed local information, subject to device-platform backup and security behavior. Account, course, completion, appointment, rating, instruction, onboarding, certificate, transaction, and regulatory records may be retained as required to provide the service and comply with educational, regulatory, tax, fraud-prevention, contractual, and legal obligations.
Your choices
You may log out at any time. Optional reviews and optional instruction notes may be left blank. You may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible account information by emailing contact@vdriveusa.com. Some records may not be eligible for deletion when retention is required by law, regulation, contract, or legitimate security and recordkeeping needs.
Children and teen learners
Virtual Drive provides driver-education services that may be used by eligible teen learners with parent or guardian involvement. The app is not directed to children under 13. Parent and student accounts remain separate identities even when a household chooses to use one shared email inbox.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including protected device storage and short-lived access mechanisms. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes and contact
